Hodeidah city centre is 4 kms from the port and the city has a population of circa 300,000. The city is in the center of the northern governorates and is connected by a transport network with the major cities including the capital Sana’a.

Communications             

Port control – VHF channel 14 & 16 – Vessels must notify Port Control of their imminent arrival and when they drop anchor.

 

Customs and Immigration            

Customs/Immigration officers board the vessels upon arrival.

 

Flags     

Every vessel entering the harbour must hoist the Republic of Yemen national flag on her highest mast.

 

Notice of Readiness        

Standard procedures apply and in accordance with Charter Parties.

 

 

 

Pilot      

Pilotage is compulsory for vessel’s with a registered DWT of 400 tons and over.

 

Port Tariff          

A copy of the tariff is available upon request.

 

Garbage              

Disposal is viz a local ships chandler. Master should inform the vessel agent if garbage is removed.

Fresh Water – available – usd15 per ton, minimum delivery 50 tons

Stores – available through the agents appointed ships chandler

Hodeidah has an international airport though most international flights are viz Sana’a International Airport.
